Sean M.Harold Higham enlisted with the Royal Ulster Rifles on February 19, 1924. Although at first glance the form seems to say he was 16 years old, based on the dates, he was actually just under 14 year old at the time. A closer inspection of the age on the forms indicates that it might actually say “13 yrs 276 days”, which would be his correct age. On the form, his trade or calling was listed as “Musician”.
He would go on to serve 29 years with the RUR, releasing on September 30, 1948 at the rank of Captain.
